A collection of original works on paper by CJ Cohn. The visual pieces are accompanied by quotes and personal commentary that capture the emotions behind the collection and insights gained through her divorce process.
Cohn takes the viewer on a journey both singular and universal. Her personal experience becomes a broader narrative in which the viewer can find elements of their own stories of love and loss and reinvention. Cohn’s artistic manipulation of her journey is offset by her sense of humor. She presents what she refers to as “the Gray Divorce” as a reinvention story rather than a mopey melodrama.
“When my long marriage ended, I was faced with creating a new life alone. I chose to re-emerge by tapping into art. The work helped me find humor in my situation which went a long way toward helping me heal.” says Cohn.
The collection includes original framed art as well as signed limited edition prints. Cohn will also be sharing a video installation in which she offers the healing messages that inspired her to capture and document her divorce journey through art.
